Andreas Knickman Tandem Fund

13 year old Andreas Knickman was diagnosed with osteo-sarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, in July of 2009. Andreas is the son of Roy and Debbie Knickman of Newbury Park. Roy was a member of the 1984 US Olympic Cycling team, a former US National Champion and a member of the famous 7-Eleven Professional Cycling team, competiting in the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and other major European races as well as the US. Roy was also the team director of the Prime Alliance Professional Cycling team as well as the USCF National Junior team coach in the early 90's. Debbie was also a professional bike racer and tri-athelete. As with any childhood cancer, it's been a very tough 6 months for Andreas and his family and the battle goes on. Through the generousity of Landshark Cycles, Hed wheels and Bontrager, a tandem is being built for Andreas and Roy to help in his recovery. As genrous as those companies have been, there are still some items remaining to complete the bike. We are asking for your help to raise money towards the purchase of a Shimano Dura-Ace Electronic drivetrain for their new bike. Your help in any amount would be most appreciated. Any funds raised in excess of the cost of the parts will be donated to Andreas and his family to help with his medical expenses. Your donation is tax deductable. Thank you for your help.
